Annual Benchmarking Survey

Texas Public Pool Council now does an annual benchmark survey. Our hope is that the survey will provide results that help Aquatic facilities see what the best practices are and assist them in continuing to better their own operations. Data could also be used as leverage within their own organizations to assist with increasing funds, gaining new positions, policy change, etc.

The following overarching aquatic topics are covered:
  • Staffing
  • In services and Drills
  • Maintenance
  • Policies and Procedures
  • Programming

In what ways could you utilize the data to improve operations? Here are just a handful of examples:
  • Use the data to demonstrate to upper administration that your wages are too low and get those well deserving staff an increase
  • See who else has similar pool equipment (acid pumps, chlorinators, etc.) and see if they can help you problem solve some pump room concerns
  • If you are considering a re-plaster you can see what kind of plaster other facilities have, and call them to see if they like it
  • Find out how others are determining when to close their pools in the event of lightning
  • Discover what others are charging their staff for courses (Lifeguarding, WSI, etc.) which could help you determine a fair pricing structure for your own courses
  • See how others are accepting registrations and convince your bosse(s) to finally start online registrations
  • Get a glimpse into how others are running in-services and drills, and revamp your own system

The more that take the survey, the more beneficial it becomes! The survey will close on December 1st!

Have suggestions on topics you would like added to the survey or have other ways you would like to see the survey improved? Email us! We would be excited to hear from you.
