2008 Aquatic Conference
The dates for
TPPC's 2008 Aquatic Conference have been set. The conference
will be held in Waco, Texas, from January 4-12, 2008.
Below is a schedule of the major events at this
year's conference:
- Jan. 4-5: CPO Course
- Jan. 6: David Pippin Memorial Classic (11:00-5:00
pm)
- Jan. 6: Sports & Spirits Social (7:00-11:00pm)
- Jan. 7: Vendors Night (7:00-12:00 am)
- Jan. 7-9: Workshop
- Jan. 8: Kickin BBQ (7:00-11:00 pm)
The City of Waco Parks and Recreation
Department invites you to “Navigate New Waters” January
3-12 at the 26th Annual Texas Public Pool Council Conference.
This year’s conference drifts upstream from College
Station to the banks of the Brazos River in downtown
Waco. Along with a change of scenery, the forecast calls
fresh insight from speakers, new products and services
from vendors, and a warm Waco welcome.
Itinerary:
The pre-conference Certified Pool Operator course is
scheduled for January 4-5, while the 4th Annual David
Pippen Memorial Golf Tournament is slated for January
6 at Cottonwood Creek Golf Course. The conference then
hits full stride on January 7-9 with various certification
courses taking place until January 12.

Bios
Location:
Located in the heart of downtown, the Waco Convention
Center will serve as the conference headquarters. The
Waco Hilton, next door to the convention center, is
the host hotel (Rates are $85/single and $109/double).
Downtown Waco features riverfront parks, the historic
Suspension Bridge and a full menu of bars, restaurants
and shopping.

Activities:
As the host of this year’s conference, Waco’s planning
committee set out with two goals for 2008: informative
sessions in the day and fun at night.
Sunday evening’s welcome event is the “Sports and Spirits
Social,” which will take place at the mesmerizing Texas
Sports Hall of Fame. Crickets Grill and Draft House,
one of Waco’s favorite hangouts, will host the event
and provide special admission to its downtown location
after the social.
On Monday night, the vendors get the attention, but
Waco will shake things up with a dose of prime time
entertainment and non-stop laughs. Then on Tuesday,
everyone is invited to the River Square Center for the
Kickin’ Wild West BBQ. Downtown’s newly opened Wild
West club will welcome our private party to its dance
floors for lip-smacking BBQ and tasty beverages.
The dates and plans are set, so now it’s time to register.
The City of Waco is proud to be a first-time host of
the TPPC Annual Aquatic Conference.
